About
Patricia J. Stoff, LCSW︱Psychotherapist

I work with children, teens, adults and families to find solutions to the problems that are posing an obstacle to happiness and tranquility. I'm licensed in the state of Florida and support clients both online and in-person. I received my Masters of Social Work degree (MSW) from the University of South Florida and from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).

Before opening my private practice, I worked as a therapist in an integrative agency specializing in infant and early childhood mental health. Here, I gained extensive experience treating children, adolescents and adults of diverse backgrounds.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is primarily strength-based and guided by the desire to empower people to recognize their own existing resources, resilience, and positive qualities in an effort to overcome difficult challenges. My experience in specialized work with children and families has offered me an appreciation for the  importance of an attachment based perspective which views human beings as innately relational, social and wired for intimate bonding with others.

There’s no magic bullet when it comes to therapy and I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach; rather, I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support clients in reaching their goals, including: attachment focused, cognitive behavioral, emotion focused, trauma informed, sand tray/expressive arts, and play therapy. I look forward to the opportunity to create a safe and invitational space for people to heal and grow.
